In addition, several of MCDI's Diving Supervisors are certified decompression chamber operators.

Underwater Bridge Inspection, Repair, and Construction

Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc. has personnel on staff that have personally performed commercial diving operations on over 2,000 bridges in Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Florida and North Carolina.

MCDI divers have worked in conjunction with numerous engineering companies and government agencies in the performance of these projects. MCDI divers are very experienced with all aspects of inland commercial diving including working in heavy current, zero visibility and cold water.

River Shipping Industry

Since opening for business in 1988, MCDI has been providing commercial diving services to the inland river shipping industry. In fact, most of our repeat customers are inland river shippers.

River Terminal and Mooring Cell Services

MCDI has extensive experience constructing, inspecting, and repairing mooring cells and mooring dolphins of all sizes and styles.

In fact, MCDI divers are highly trained and experienced in performing underwater inspections on all types of marine structures.

MCDI has the capability to provide ultrasonic thickness testing, underwater video, and underwater still photography. MCDI inspection reports include highly detailed and accurate information with integrated color photographs and AutoCAD drawings, and underwater video, as applicable.

Marine Salvage Operations

MCDI is extremely experienced and qualified in the salvage and recovery of sunken vessels and equipment. Our crews have successfully raised numerous towboats, barges, large cruisers, and houseboats as well as a multitude of other objects. MCDI has the equipment required to perform these types of projects including: a truckable lift barge, sectional barges, rough terrain crane, over 40,000 tons worth of lift bags, and other specialty equipment. Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc. has the skilled technicians and specialized equipment to perform hydrographic/bathymetric soundings along sections of rivers, waterways, and lakes.

Side Scan Sonar Studies

Mainstream Commercial Divers, Inc. collects side scan data using a boat equipped with a Klein 3900 side scan sonar unit and differential GPS system. The Klein 3900 system is commonly used for search and recovery and shallow water mapping, and used by police, fire, sheriff, Coast Guard, and Navy units throughout the world.
